Expo to celebrate 6^th Anniversary September 22-24 at Edmonton Expo Centre

The Edmonton Comic & Entertainment Expo will be boldly going to Star Trek superstardom when Canadian screen legend William Shatner attends Friday and Saturday of the 6th annual event. Though he boasts a career spanning more five decades, he is best known as "Captain James T. Kirk" from the original Star Trek (1966-1969) series, Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) and six films to follow, ending with Star Trek Generations (1994). Additionally: T.J. Hooker, Rescue 911 (People’s Choice Award), The Practice, Boston Legal (two Emmy Awards, Golden Globe Award). Mr. Shatner has also been honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Canada’s Walk of Fame, has recorded multiple spoken-word albums, is a best-selling author, and could be heard delivering the wake-up call played for the crew of the Space Shuttle Discover in 2011.

Joining Shatner will be the star of Marvel’s Daredevil and The Defenders (Netflix) Charlie Cox, who landed the role of "Matt Murdock/Daredevil" in 2015. He is also known for roles on Stardust, The Theory of Everything, and HBO’s Boardwalk Empire. This will be his first appearance at a convention in Alberta.

"As soon as we hit August we really see the excitement from the fans kick up a notch, and hopefully this guest announcement will thrill them! We’re so excited to be having Charlie Cox for the first time at one of our shows, and of course to work with William Shatner again, because especially for Canadians, it doesn’t get any better than Captain Kirk!"
