In a world where toddlers wear tiaras, where Sandra Bullock is a subject of pity,
and where we all know just how real the housewives in your county are,
is it any wonder that Lindsay Burns is worried about vajayjays?

URBAN CURVZ THEATRE & Pot of Jam Productions present The Vajayjay Monologues
by Calgary playwright/performer, Lindsay Burns.

In 1996, Eve Ensler created The Vagina Monologues, a worldwide hit that became the theatrical poster-child for female empowerment. As women gathered to chant the ‘C’ word, or considered what their vaginas might wear or say, womankind was taking a giant leap forward… or so we thought.

In 2007, The Vajayjay Monologues premiered with URBAN CURVZ and Calgary audiences proved that they were hungry for Lindsay Burns’ wit and wisdom as they sold out house after house. Burns exposed and extolled both the women who sneered at Ensler’s message and those who answered the clitoral call in the hope that her efforts would reinvigorate the movement…but did it work?

Now in 2010, after a critically acclaimed stint at the New York Fringe, The Vajayjay Monologues is back and bushier than ever. Burns has rewritten her rally cry with new songs, characters and insights that are sure to inspire, empower, and energize a new generation of women. Her latest creation is not to be missed!

The Vajayjay Monologues runs April 29th – May 8th at the Pumphouse Theatre. Direction and dramaturgy is by Alberta Theatre Projects Artistic Associate, Vicki Stroich, stage management by Tuled Giovanazzi and lights by Neil Fleming.

“This play is the oddest and most outstanding balance of honest appreciation and legitimate questioning I’ve ever seen.” – Ross Chappell nytheatre.com

“This is a mature, skillful piece of theatre and should entertain both men and women, as well as challenging their ideas about womanhood in a changing world.” -Leila Marston winnipegonstage.com
