Prepare to be scared! Experience the ghoulish and ghastly first-hand, when Calgary’s premiere carnival of carnage rolls into Canada Olympic Park (COP), (88 Canada Olympic Road SW). ScreamFest ’10 previews Friday, October 8 and Saturday, October 9, and continuing to Sunday, October 31. Hours of operation are 7 pm to Midnight.
Admission to ScreamFest is $20 and includes 3-D glasses, entrance to all horrifying haunted attractions, entrance to your favourite attraction a second time, unlimited access to the FestEvil tent and roving entertainment. The eerie outdoor Lucifer’s Labyrinth, full of frightening dead ends and detours, and four hair-raising haunted houses are among the five alarming attractions to frighten Screamfest visitors. A battle between aliens and humans rages on the front lines of Area 51: Alien Apocalypse; view the twisted side of 3-D childhood characters in Scarytales; the pitch-black What Lurks in the Dark scarifies, while Reapers and Grimm Funeral Home awaits those with lost souls!
Those who survive the haunted attractions may enjoy the FestEvil Tent’s vendors, entertainers, and gruesome games, including Feed the Demon, a severed head-toss into the mouth of a monster, and Blood Bath, where players shoot blood from a severed arm at a horrific target. For $3 more the Maze of Madness and Buried Alive are indoor creepy mazes that add further spectacle of spook for those wanting more. All proceeds from these two attractions will benefit the Kidney Foundation of Calgary.
This year’s ScreamFest includes all kinds of entertainers including magicians, fire spinners and stilt walkers that will distract from what lurks in the shadows. Those brave enough to attend the weekends of October 8th and 9th or October 15th and 16th will be jolted with a cavalcade of freaky artistes. >From Discovery Channel’s hit TV show Guinea Pigs, Ryan Stock and Amber Lynn will be performing shocking feats that push what the body will endure. The world’s fattest contortionist, at 450 lbs, Fatt Matt will bring his body and mind bending talents to the ScreamFest stage. Los Angeles’ Brianna Belladonna, the last living female sword swallower, will display her seductive sideshow skills.
