450 Walkers Raise $100,129

HIV Edmonton is proud to announce the results of the 2010 Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life.

On September 12, 2010, over 450 Edmontonians and 100 volunteers gathered at Churchill Square and raised $100,129 and awareness for HIV/AIDS programs and services. The 19th Annual AIDS Walk for Life is HIV Edmonton’s largest annual fundraiser. All funds raised stay here in Edmonton.

Former HIV Edmonton Board Chair, Jeffrey Keller was named “Top Walker” for 2010, raising $5,500, winning a trip for two to San Francisco to participate in the 2011 AIDS Walk San Francisco, and attend all corresponding VIP events, courtesy of WestJet.

Mr. Keller wanted to recognize the next eligible participant and has donated this prize to Kristina Marvin, who placed 4th in fundraising, behind MP Laurie Hawn and current Board Chair, James Mabey. Ms. Marvin has participated in many Walks for Life held in Edmonton and raised a total of $2,944 in 2010.
