SYNOPSIS
Phone Whore takes place at night in the apartment of Larissa, a phone sex operator in her mid-thirties. The play opens with Larissa dashing from the bathroom to answer the phone, still wiping toothpaste foam from her mouth. It’s the first of four seven-minute calls that she answers over the course of the play; this first call is fairly “vanilla”, but subsequent calls are increasingly intense. In between these interruptions, Larissa discusses her profession, makes toast, praises the clients she works with, has several cups of coffee, and reveals the way that her work, life, sexuality, and art have become intertwined. The play closes as she prepares to take a fifth call.

CAMERYN MOORE (playwright/performer)
Cameryn Moore is a writer, comedian, sex educator, performer, and, oh yeah, a professional phone sex operator. She is the host of f*ckbucket, a monthly talk show and sex-trivia night at the Savant Project in Boston, and makes semi-regular appearances at the Naked Comedy Showcase, the Comedy Studio, and Good Vibrations. She blogs about her work at http://www.camerynmoore.com. This is not Cameryn’s first script, but it is her first to reference either “black cock” or “toilet slut”. Under her legal name, Cameryn writes, directs, choreographs and produces size-diverse dance and theater shows with Big Moves.

ELISABETH DUPRÉ (director)
Elizabeth DuPré received her degree in theater directing from Salem State College. She lives, writes, and directs in Boston. Favorite among her previous projects include The Children's Hour, The Vagina Monologues, and Lineage, which she wrote and took to the Edmonton Fringe Festival in 2008 with her theater company, The Junkyard Dogs. She has been concentrating on playwriting for the last two years, but stumbled away from her computer long enough to direct Phone Whore, which has been both entertaining and educational so surely Aristotle would approve.
