Back by popular demand, the Loden’s "Baxter the Beagle" cab once again can be spotted scratching and sniffing his way around downtown Vancouver, all in an effort to raise tail-wagging support for the BCSPCA with a unique #BaxtersBack Photo Contest.

Officially unleashed at yesterday’s BCSPCA Paws For A Cause flagship walk, Baxter and his "first walk" launched the Loden’s latest BCSPCA fundraising initiative whereby the hotel will donate five dollars for each photo of Baxter posted on Twitter or Instagram and tagged with #BaxtersBack.* As an extra incentive to get up close and personal with the pup, nabbing a selfie with Baxter will garner an even greater ten dollar donation to the BCSCPA. And if raising funds for animals in need wasn’t already a good enough reason to participate, all contest entrants also will be entered to win the grand prize: a two-night luxurious "Pooch Lovers Stay Package" at the Loden Hotel for them and their furry friend, valued at $1,440. The final bonus? Posting a selfie with Baxter also will earn a double entry for the grand prize draw.

From now until September 30, Baxter — complete with his freshly groomed coat, happy tail, floppy ears, and eye-catching red tongue — will be busy raising campaign awareness, and offering two and four-legged hotel guests memorable rides to downtown destinations. Local animal lovers are encouraged to keep their eyes peeled for Baxter, and to snap and post a photo to help raise as much money as possible. Baxter also will be making special appearances at various dog parks around the city, and dogs and their owners are encouraged to follow the Loden on social media to find out Baxters’s special location for that day, grab their Baxter selfie, and even score a special doggy treat!

As a pet friendly hotel with a warm spot for animals, the #BaxtersBack Photo Contest marks the second BCSPCA fundraising event the Loden supported this year. At yesterday’s 2015 BCSCPA Paws For A Cause Walk — where Baxter and the #BaxtersBack contest was revealed — the team from Loden and its sister restaurants, Tableau Bar Bistro and Homer St. Cafe, proudly marched in support of ending animal cruelty while facilitating a beautiful BBQ as a fundraiser.

* For the purposes of the #BaxtersBack Photo Contest, the Loden will donate a maximum amount of $2,000 to the BCSPCA.
