To herald the arrival of winter, Alberta’s first craft distillery has released Gin Rummy as a seasonal special in time for Christmas and the festive season. A glorious tribute to two traditional spirits, Eau Claire Distillery’s take on the classic drink, mixes the distinguished tastes of juniper gin and special rum, with winter spices. Crafted to conjure feelings of warmth and comfort, Gin Rummy is designed for those who come together to enjoy festive social occasions.

"What could be more social than Gin Rummy?" says Eau Claire Distillery President and Founder, David Farran. "Sip it with ice by the fire, warm it up for a hot drink by the curling rink, or mix it for a heart-warming drink while you play a round of gin rummy with your friends."

Following in the tradition of Caribbean juniper gins and navy rums, Gin Rummy’s unique and delicious elixir sets a new standard for winter spirits. Artisanal made and hand crafted by Eau Claire, its flavour is reminiscent of spiced Christmas cake, making it the ideal festive libation.

"First timers may just feel compelled to call out ‘Rummy!’ in flavour ecstasy," says Farran.

The Gin Rummy bottle depicts a social scene of refined gentlemen and ladies playing cards, each with an animal head; a bear, Canadian goose, beaver, wolf and a moose, a nod to the brand’s strap lines, "wherever social animals roam".

Gin Rummy follows the first two offerings from Eau Claire Distillery’s stable of products, Three Point Vodka, launched in June which proved a sell-out summer success, and Parlour Gin launched in September to wide praise from industry and critics.

The pioneering Turner Valley based company has released Gin Rummy as a limited time offering to select stores across Alberta.
