Owners of Original Joe’s brand bring new kitchen and bar concept to Calgary
State & Main Kitchen and Bar (State & Main), a new restaurant concept operated by FranWorks Group of Companies (FranWorks), has selected Chinook Centre to open its first Calgary location, opening its doors on Monday, July 29 at 11 a.m. Offering classic comfort food with character, State & Main will bring an exciting new kitchen and bar experience to the busy shopping centre.
FranWorks is known for its popular Original Joe’s Restaurant and Bar brand, currently with 59 locations throughout Western Canada. In 2012 they added Elephant & Castle to their portfolio, a well-known group of pubs with 17 locations across Canada and the U.S.
The State & Main brand symbolizes the crossroads of the neighborhood, the convergence of two streets, the centre of town. It’s the neighborhood gathering place, welcoming all who look for comfort food, great value, genuine service, and a bar to call their own.
"State & Main will bring a new element to Chinook Centre - a bar with made-from-scratch comfort food," says area manager Darren Weekes. "Guests can also expect classic and inventive cocktails, craft beer and an approachable wine list. It’s all about choice with local and international beer on tap and in bottles and a variety of premium spirits."
State & Main offers a combination of flavours both familiar and unexpected within the comfort of a casual dining setting. The menu takes on classic dishes and street-inspired favourites, designed to fulfill all cravings, and serves up all entrées with the choice of two sides. State & Main offers late night dining, outdoor seating and an 18-tap draught line-up, in addition to daily lunch, dinner and weekend brunch.
State & Main first introduced their concept in Lethbridge in spring 2012, quickly followed by locations in Red Deer, Winnipeg, Saskatoon and Spruce Grove. All locations have become a key part of the communities they serve.
The hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Brunch is offered on weekends and statutory holidays between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. State & Main Chinook Centre is a bar environment with a small family section and is located at 129 - 6455 Macleod Trail.
