JTMF West is proud to announce the results for the 2013 Artists for Life event held last Saturday, May 4, 2013 in The Club at the Citadel. This year’s event raised $26,875, up from $16,500 in 2012. The 2013 event supported YESS, HIV Edmonton and Camp fYrefly.
JTMF West is a local arts organization, created with the mandate of raising funds for HIV/AIDS and LGBT and at-risk youth support services. 2013 Artists for Life is JTMF West’s 4th annual event.
2013 Artists for Life was presented by TD Bank Group and City Television, with additional support from the Edmonton Eskimos, Minsos Stewart Masson, and verleo interiors.
Artists for Life is unique in Edmonton as, due to the sponsor support, 100% of funds raised go to the designed charities – not to overhead expenses.
This year’s headliner Wil rocked a sold out crowd in The Club at the Citadel and ended his set with a roaring standing ovation, followed by a live auction of jewelry made from his broken guitar strings.
The show was hosted by Breakfast Television’sBridget Ryan and also featured The Carolines, local star Audrey Ochoa and the Crashers, and DJ stylings of The Urban Monks. There were more than 50 artists participating in this year’s event, an event that continues to set the bar for arts-based fundraisers in Edmonton.
2013 Artists for Life also featured a reception sponsored by Alley Kat Brewery and verleo interiors, as well as a silent auction highlighting the work of the local Edmonton art community.
