FOR YOUTH, AGES 16 - 30
WITHIN THE GLTB COMMUNITY
WHAT WE OBSERVE ABOUT
OURSELVES WE HAVE THE POWER TO CHANGE. IF I AM NOT THE IDENTITIES I HAVE
CREATED AS ‘ME’ THEN WHAT AM I? THERE IS A NON-PHYSICAL ASPECT TO OUR BEING
WHICH CANNOT BE CONTAINED BY OUR THOUGHTS ABOUT WHO WE THINK WE ARE.
FREE YOURSELF FROM THE
LABELS YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN AND YOU HAVE
GIVEN YOURSELF.
MOVE BEYOND YOUR STORIES
and NO LONGER LIVE AS SOMEBODY ELSE.
The Work:
Designed to support those youth who are struggling inside with
their identity and find themselves often pushing up against a world they really
want to be a part of. This course runs
over 4 nights, bi-weekly as outlined below, with the invitation for optional
counseling and additional bi-weekly social gatherings. The classes include
opportunities for creative expression, journaling, meditation and visualization
and implements both video and musical support.
The Facilitators:
Toni Hegge and Nadene Rogers have lived lives in the struggle of
expressing who they knew they were because of the crippling fear of not being
accepted, not getting ahead, not finding love. They will openly and honestly
share their journeys and with the same passion and sensitivity they have
learned to have for their lives, be available to support youth participants
throughout this time of exploration and transformation.
