RuPaul’s Drag Race is North America’s #1 TV series targeting at the GLBT community. The series highly anticipated Season 3 premiered on Monday January 24 exclusively on OUTtv in Canada. With over 368,900 combined viewers in the premiere week, which tripled from the previous season, making it the biggest season opener ever.
OUTtv announced that POM Wonderful, North America’s leading pomegranate grower and producer of pomegranate juice, has signed on to become the series’ presenting sponsor and California-based Barefoot Wine & Bubbly, the series’ supporting sponsor. Both companies also sponsored the first ever OUTtv’s RuPaul’s Drag Race Canadian Tour with headliner 2010 Drag Race winner, America’s Next Drag Superstar Tyra Sanchez from January 28 – February 5, 2011. The shows took place at premier gay venues in six major cities across Canada: Calgary, Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa, Winnipeg, and Whistler.
Joining the rank of America’s Next Top Model, Top Chef, The Bachelor and Jersey Shore, OUTtv, in partnership with LOGO TV in the US, created RuPaul’s Fantasy Drag Race Game. Users can create their Fantasy Drag Team by selecting 3 characters from the show each week and automatically compete with other fans for a chance to win prizes, including a weekend in Vegas with tickets to see Lady Gaga Live at the MGM Grand and two grand prizes - a trip for 2 to Northern Nevada & a trip for 2 to Southern Nevada and Vegas, courtesy of SunWing and Nevada Tourism. The gameplay provides entertainment value to fans while driving interaction and engagement with the show and casts.
