Between Femme
Between Femme is a Queer femme Support Group designed by femme identified people. They have created a peer-led, drop-in support group, wherein any LGBTQ+ women (including allies), genderqueer and nonbinary (feminine-of-centre and/or female assigned), and trans (MTF and FTM) individuals can join discussion sessions and social outings in a casual, safer space. It is to give femme individuals the opportunity to speak on LGBTQ+ issues as well as their own personal experiences with each other.
This group is to give femme individuals the opportunity to meet each other in a mutually supportive environment where they know they are around others with similar lived experiences. It also gives an opportunity to become educated on LGBTQ+ issues, have discussion on topics relevant to them, build resiliency, instill a sense of community, and potentially build supportive relationships.
WHEN: The 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month from 6:30 – 8:30 pm.

LGBTQ+ New Canadians Resiliency Project
Designed by a group of new Canadians, this project aims to strengthens LGBTQ+ New Canadians’ resiliency and avoid challenges associated with being LGBTQ+ and new to Canada. It facilitates belonging with Calgary's LGBTQ+ community; engagement with immigrant serving organizations; and creates successful integration into the Calgary Community.
?The project is designed to increase the number of supportive connections in client lives and produce greater feelings of acceptance in the community, compared before and after their project involvement.
?We will work closely with all immigrant and refugee serving organizations in Calgary. Our key project Partner is the Calgary Centre for Newcomers to offer a wide range of services to assist with the settlement process, either at Outlink or at the Centre of Newcomers.
?We offer 1-1 appointments and support, situational inquiries, settlement referrals, and training related to the MAIA LGBTQ Resiliency model for caregivers, volunteers, and any person who are supporting LGBTQ New Canadians. A support group will be starting very soon.

The Heart of Excellence is an awards ceremony and gala fund raiser for Calgary Outlink. It was inspired by volunteers and will honour outstanding individuals in Calgary's LGBTQ+ community by paying tribute to their contribution to community service, leadership, business, arts, and mentorship in Alberta.
