Friday March 3 - Sunday March 5, 2017
Have you been searching for a way to enrich your relationship, reconnect, or just have some quality time together? This weekend, specifically designed with LGBTQ+ couples in mind, features a nationally acclaimed facilitator and a safe inclusive space just for you.
With meals and snacks included, this is a special time to focus on your partner without the regular distractions of life. Learn how to be in the moment with your partner – to speak your truth, and listen without the reactions that come from past hurts or future worries.
Join facilitator Brian Mitchell-Walker, Friday evening, Saturday day, and Sunday afternoon for a fun filled weekend to gain individual self awareness, and compassion for your partner’s differences. Through a variety of activities each couple will have opportunities to explore different dynamics of their relationships, practice different listening skills and use the intelligence of their bodies, hearts and minds.
In creating safe space for all who attend – we also will have opportunity to share the joys and challenges that being Queer couples not only creates for us but our family and friends. As we explore our own relationships – we do it knowing that we are not alone!
Brian uses the Enneagram in a lot of his work - the Enneagram is a personality system purposed to understand why we do what we do, how it's connected to our head, heart, and gut, and staying present in the moment.
No religious affiliation is required - there will be one component on spirituality but will be open to the background and interests of each individual, and not based on a certain religion.
The investment for the weekend is $145. Register now.
Snacks and yummy meals included.
(The actual cost for this workshop without our sponsors would be $600.)

Location info:
Hillhurst United Church is equipped with a wheelchair lift, and has accessible and all-gender washrooms. Since we are in a vibrant urban location, leave time to find parking or you can use nearby transit, the closest is the Sunnyside C-train station. If you are coming from out of town and need assistance in finding a hotel or airbnb, feel free to contact us.
What is a 'queer' couple?
If you're wondering what a queer couple is, the definition is not concrete, as it may mean different things to different people. Typically this would mean that one or more of the partners identifies as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Two Spirit, Non-Binary, or combinations thereof. This event is meant to be a safe space for those who don't often have inclusive and intentional spaces where their relationships can be nurtured and honoured completely. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us!
