Carrie Fisher, the reigning queen of Sci-fi, will appear at the 5th annual Edmonton Comic & Entertainment Expo (Edmonton Expo) on September 24 and 25 (Saturday and Sunday) only. In addition to her recently revisited role as "Princess Leia" in the Star Wars franchise, Fisher appeared in classic films like When Harry Met Sally, Shampoo, and The Blues Brothers and is an acclaimed playwright, novelist, screenwriter and Emmy Award Nominee. Fans who attend can hear from Fisher at a spotlight panel and meet her at photo ops and autograph sessions.
Star Wars fans will also be happy to hear that Brian Herring, who currently is the puppeteer behind everyone’s new best friend: "BB-8" from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, will attend Edmonton Expo this year. True Star Trek fans will know the names Todd Haberkorn and Vic Mignoga, who star as "Spock" and "Capt. James T Kirk" respectively in the fan-made sequel series Star Trek: Continues. Two fan favourite voice actors were also announced: Christopher Sabat (Dragonball Z, One Piece, Dragon Age: Dawn of the Seeker) and Sean Schemmel (Dragonball Z, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Pokemon).
Organizers also announced five creator guests will be appearing at Edmonton Expo 2016: Illustrator and comic book artist Sana Takeda (Monstress, X-23, Ms.Marvel); illustrator and comic book/animation artist Robert Pope (PEANUTS, Scooby-Doo, Looney Tunes, Batman the Brave and the Bold, Johnny Bravo, DC Comics); Illustrator Milivoj Ceran (D&D 5e, Magic the Gathering); Video game pioneer and BioWare’s first artist Mike Sass (Magic the Gathering, World of Warcraft, Star Wars, Pathfinder, and Dungeons and Dragons).
