Get back to the WILD, get in touch with your inner animal and do feed the bears. On Sunday July 4th, 2010, Vancouver's WILD Sunday offers a full day of events for bears, otters, wolves and friends to help HIV+ children go to camp. This time, it really is about the children.
For the first time in one day, 3 venues open their doors and their hearts in support of one cause. Start your day off by satisfying the rumble down below with The Gingerbear's Brunch at J Lounge (1216 Bute - off Davie) from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm. Be sure to reserve a table at 604-609-6665, as space is limited and the food is fantastic.
Who's a good camper? That's right, you are! Collect all your badges at Camp Poke-A-Bear at Steamworks (123 West Pender) from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm and get into the wilderness while enjoying the company of furry bears, studly park rangers and willing "cub" scouts. DJ Matt Effect (Sydney Australia) will enhance the experience with hot house music and sexy deep beats.
Cub-A-Licious is treats for your ears & eyes! Listen to the sweet sweet beats as you shake your butt on the dance floor or find a quiet corner and get to know a new friend. Numbers Cabaret (1042 Davie Street) is a space that offers it all, from intimate to in-your-face. As part of the charity fun-raiser, Number's is graciously donating 100% of the door, which will be by sliding scale donation. So be generous and get WILD! We certainly will.

All money raised to help support Camp Moomba (www.campmoomba.com) send children impacted by HIV/AIDS to summer camp and to support them throughout the year. Their goal is for every camper to return home with increased self-esteem, a sense of belonging and pride of achievement. Through a supportive environment, Camp Moomba builds character, leaders and stronger children.
