AIDS Calgary Awareness Association Introduces New Executive Director: Meet Simonne LeBlanc!

Simonne is coming to AIDS Calgary with over 25 years of executive management experience, primarily in the not-for-profit sector. Since 2005 she has been the Executive Director of Champions Career Centre, and her previous leadership positions included organizations such as Discovery House Family Violence Prevention Society, Street Teams/Safe House Society, HERA (a group that provides services to young street-involved women), the Canadian Liver Foundation (Calgary), the Cerebral Palsy Association (Calgary), Focus Vermillion, and Canadian Mental Health in Northeast Alberta.

Simmone’s experience and skills are considerable and varied. Her goal is to focus her work on a target that matches her passion: helping people who are marginalized by society, by policy and personal opinion. She brings with her a skill set that includes policy management, strategic and operational planning and evaluation, fund development, financial management, and board and external relations-building.

We are pleased to bring an ED with such experience to the organization to help us achieve the goals laid out in our new strategic plan, to continue our valuable work, and to reach out even more effectively to populations at risk for HIV/AIDS in our community.

Please join us in welcoming Simonne LeBlanc to AIDS Calgary and all of our partnerships related to our service organization!(GC)
