There are many theories as to why Calgary, and Alberta keep electing and re-electing dinosaur politicians with closed minds. I feel the GLBT-Trans community is partly to blame.

Many of us simply do not bother to cast a ballot. It’s a time commitment that requires about ten minutes from our lives every four or five years. The excuses are always the same, and so too is the result. Conservative politicians are placed in a position to form policy, and consistently attack us with ignorance and bigotry. I’m not the biggest fan of politicians either, but I hope that our community shows up en masse on election day to vote for anyone but the conservatives.
