Several people have asked me why GayCalgary.com Magazine has highlighted only gay bars as businesses of the month. Before the debut issue of the publication went to print, the bars in the community had already been advertising with GayCalgary.com. Each gay bar in Calgary has either advertised on the GayCalgary.com Events Calendar, has a GayCalgary.com Internet Terminal or GayCalgary.com Video Ads. We just want to make sure we support our roots since they helped us get started. This issue has the Verge, and May will have Goliath’s and the Texas Lounge. June’s issue will have articles about Priape and July with BluBox. We have everything planned so not to worry.
Updates on upcoming issues
Right after going to press for the March issue, we were proud to learn that the June and July issues of GayCalgary.com Magazine will include listing of ARGRA events and locations for Canadian Rockies International Rodeo. CRIR will be happening July 2 to 4, 2004. Because of the early date, any one that wants to be in the July Issue should have all advertisements or events submitted by June 20th because we will go to print early to be out in time for both CRIR and the Calgary Stampede, which occurs July 9 to 18, 2004.
Just as a reminder that GayCalgary.com Magazine is the official Pride Guide for Pride Calgary 2004. The Pride Guide is going to be in BOTH May and June Issue so please have your advertisements or events submitted no later than April 25th to make the May issue and May 25th to make the June issue. You can contact Pride Calgary at (403) 262-3410 or email them at co-chair@pridecalgary.ca or visit www.pridecalgary.ca.
To advertise in the magazine for the May, June or July issues, please contact us at (403) 543-6970. You can also check out our website at www.gaycalgary.com or email us at sales@gaycalgary.com.
ISCCA Coronation
Marty Mojo Stevens is our cover this month. We thought it would be fitting since this month is Coronation, the current reigning Emperor XXVII Marty Mojo Stevens and Empress XXVII Brandy Bishop-Towers will be stepping down. Check the events listings for events around the Coronation. If you enjoy watching drag shows, or are interested in raising money for Children’s Wish Foundation and other charities, come out have fun.
