8th Avenue will never be the same! Catering company by day, Lesbian dance club by night, Indulge opens its doors Friday and Saturday nights for dancing and dining.

On a recent Friday night we ventured inside to take a gander at what Indulge has for the hungry homo. They offer a full menu until midnight, and live music with Jenn Swayne from 6:00pm – 8:00pm. We started off with the Crostine and Shmeer appetizer, consisting of three dips to use on the selection of crostine crackers and toasted flat bread: Roasted Garlic, Basil, and Kalamata Olive. The dips are quite tasty, with bold flavor. I am not a big olive fan, but the Kalamata dip was quite tasty, and we especially liked the Basil. The crackers are nice and crunchy, adding to the flavor of the dips.

Next we moved on to the Turkey Nachos, which created an entirely different texture and flavor from traditional beef nachos. The extremely tasty platter is layered with toppings and covered in sour cream, salsa and home made guacamole. It’s considerably less greasy than your typical ground beef nachos – you’ve got to try it! Great as a meal to share with a friend, or guzzle down as a group before plunging back onto the dance floor.

The Asian Noodle Salad with black sesame vinaigrette comes with chopsticks so you can try eating it traditionally...or rather, spill it on yourself, give up, and grab a fork. Either way, when the noodles do reach your mouth, you get a burst of flavor that is hard to describe. Topped with a multitude of chopped veggies, the salad has a mild kick without being spicy. Available in two sizes, Indulge also offers Caesar Salad.

The Mediterranean Stuffed Chicken is awesome! This fabulous entrée comes with a side of wild rice, is stuffed with black olives, feta cheese and sun dried tomatoes, and is topped with sun dried tomato and roasted pepper cream sauce. This sauce works wonderfully on both the chicken and mixed in with the rice. Over all, the dish is quite pleasing to the palate, but if chicken isn’t for you, their vegetarian lasagna makes a great substitute.

One of the best parts of being a food reviewer, in my opinion, is sampling the desserts. The Bernard Callebaut Chocolate Brownie is orgasmic – served with a scoop of ice cream, it’s a chocolate lover’s wet dream. For the romantic there’s the "Fondue for Two", featuring slices of banana, kiwi, strawberry, and an assortment of pastries all ready to be dipped in warm melted Bernard Callebaut chocolate. Absolutely mind-blowing, we are at a loss for words. If you run out of things to dip and don’t want to let all that chocolate go to waste, you can order some of the sweet and spicy nuts – they work quite nicely.

Indulge also features a full bar, with their most popular items being the rainbow-color martinis. The red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple drinks carry names like "Romantic", "Yummy" and "Gorgeous" – each one a unique home-made brew. The best way to find your favorite is simply to try them all!

The food at Indulge has a distinct emphasis on quality. Go for dinner, stick around for the live music, and get out on the dance floor! Try to get there early however – they’re already becoming quite the popular club, which can sometimes mean line-ups. Still, the occasional wait is worth it!
