Contemporary event space marks O&B’s third addition to Hudson’s Bay building in Calgary

Today, Oliver & Bonacini (O&B), the name behind some of Canada’s most noteworthy restaurants and event venues, unveils Hudson, its newest addition to the Calgary market. A state-of-the-art event complex within the historic Hudson’s Bay building on Stephen Avenue, Hudson serves as the capstone for O&B’s expansion into Western Canada, following last year’s successful launches of The Guild restaurant and Sub Rosa.

Hudson is poised to become one of Calgary’s most sought-after event destinations, with 18,000 square feet of stunning event space spanning across the contemporary Hudson Loft and the grand Hudson Flat. After recognizing an opportunity to expand its renowned dining concepts into Western Canada last year with The Guild and Sub Rosa, O&B adds to its almost 30 event spaces with this versatile, large-capacity, event venue in downtown Calgary. From success like The Guild being named one of Calgary’s Best New Restaurants in 2016, and Sub Rosa as one of the city’s most exclusive upscale nightlife venues, known for its innovative cocktails and stunning décor, Hudson aims to intrigue brides and business people alike. Hudson’s elevated food and beverage offerings will be spearheaded by The Guild’s award-winning Executive Chef Ryan O’Flynn.

Spanning the entire sixth floor of the building, Hudson is a contemporary space adorned with large windows that command stunning views of downtown Calgary and invite plenty of natural light into the venue. Hudson’s décor combines the building's existing grandeur and charm with updated urban accents to pay tribute to the Hudson Bay Company’s history while reflecting its progress.

Hudson boasts three lofts and four flats, as well as a full-service kitchen, two luxury bridal suites, elevator access and a loading bay. The diverse space seamlessly accommodates multiple events and up to 710 guests at one time, whether seated or as a standing reception.

Hudson promises impressive design, spectacular views and incredible versatility, as well as outstanding service offerings for events ranging from corporate conferences to elegant weddings and high-profile social gatherings.
