DJ Pebbles, the Australian pop singer who broke onto the American pop charts last summer with "To Not Love You," has released her new single and music video, "Heart Away from You". Produced by Randy Jackson, the song continues Pebble’s true-life story about the love she left behind in Australia last year to pursue her popstar dreams. "The antagonists in both songs are the same, but they are two very different sides of the same story," DJ Pebbles explains. "‘While ‘To Not Love You’ was about pushing away from a love that was, ’Heart Away From You’ focuses on the desire to have the love back." DJ Pebbles’ "Heart Away From You" is available now from Friendship Collective.

"Heart Away From You is a Romeo and Juliet style track," continues DJ Pebbles. "It’s about forbidden love and coming to terms with the idea that some things need to end in order to start anew."

"Leaving my small home town, my family, relationship, and everything I knew for the concrete jungle of NYC was pretty terrifying, but it was something I knew I had to do or else risk regretting it for the rest of my life."

Pebbles has matured a lot in the six months since making the move. Her growth is echoed in the passionate lyrics, trance-like vocals, and overall seductive sound of "Heart Away from You". "I remain a hopeless romantic, longing for the bond I see between couples walking down the streets of NYC. Though I’m a Juliet who has come to her senses, I still miss the idea of a Romeo."

DJ Pebbles spent much of her childhood as a typical sun-loving, beach-going Australian girl, acting and modeling on the side. Winning a casting competition at age 12 helped launched her music career. Pebbles released several kid-bop tracks in Australia, bringing her to the attention of the Grammy award winning producer Randy Jackson, who reached out to her through Skype.

"I knew from that first call that we’d be working together as a team," she states. "Randy is an incredible mentor."

She credits Jackson with streamlining her music career. "He has the power to make things happen." Like when Pebbles had the crazy idea that she wouldn’t only sing, she’d mix and DJ too. Jackson connected her with some of the greatest remixers to teach her the ropes.

One famous DJ, in particular, was adamant that Pebbles learn how to mix two songs together on old-school cds before attempting to mix with modern-day digital files. "If he’s reading this now, I apologize for all the nasty things I said to him," she says with a grin. "We spent so many tedious hours sorting through music, beat matching, combing through each and every element on every single track. I was awful to him through the whole process but I realize now, learning how to mix the old, complicated way helped me to become a skilled producer."

DJing has allowed the 19-year old recording artist to live a pretty incredible existence. She loves the constant travel, the amazing parties and the really cool people she meets along the way. She also appreciates the freedom producing her own music has offered her. "Its given me full control to make sure my music is exactly the way I want it to sound."

Managing dual careers as a singer and DJ (and student too! Pebbles is enrolled full-time at NYU) means she gets minimal sleep, but she says it’s a small price to pay. "Im living my dream, writing lyrics that are relatable and making beats that encourage people to dance hard through this wild life. I’ll have time to catch up on my z’s when I’m fifty."
