Montréal Pride and Pride Toronto are thrilled to announce a partnership that will present festivalgoers with the best LGBT entertainment of both Canadian events. On the occasion of Montréal Pride’s 10th anniversary, the two largest Pride festivals in Canada will join forces to offer local and international visitors some of the richest and wildest programming yet.
Montréal — the toast of Toronto
As part of Pride Toronto, Montréal Pride will present Accent on Montréal staring Montréal’s best drag queens and hosted by Michel Dorion and Rita Baga, on Saturday, July 12. But the fun won’t end there: Montréal Pride will have many more surprises in store for guests at their booth on Church Street, on stage, at the parade and during many other festivities.
Toronto to take Montréal by storm
In turn, during Montréal Pride, Toronto will serve up the premiere of Toronto sucks, very well. This electrifying performance will showcase the princes of house music: talented DJs Deko Ze and Jeremy Khamkeo, both from T.O.
"This partnership is a continuation of the spirit of camaraderie and cooperation that characterizes the relationship between Montréal Pride and Pride Toronto. Canada’s two most important Pride events have always worked in close collaboration. It’s a natural association that solidifies our desire for a common project," explains Éric Pineault, President of Montréal Pride.
"Teaming up was an obvious choice. First off, on a personal level, I grew up in Montréal — my heart is still there. And second because Montréal Pride does such great work and the team’s determination is so inspiring. Pride is a global movement; the days when everyone did their own little thing without interacting with their neighbours are long gone," says Mathieu Chantelois, Pride Toronto Executive Director.
