The 10th Anniversary of Calgary Comic & Entertainment has announced that final attendance numbers have broken a new record. Upon closing the show today at 5:00 pm, the final count for attendance was 102,000 (2014 welcome 97,000).
Other highlights:
- For many invited guests, Calgary Expo was a premiere personal appearance at a pop culture convention (Neil Patrick Harris) or other firsts (Lana Parilla, Matt Ryan, Gwendoline Christie - first Canadian appearances, 90210 actors appearing together for the first time, and the Queens of Darkness from Once Upon a Time appearing for the first time).
- The official public ‘kick-off’ and opening ceremonies, the POW! Parade of Wonders (presented in partnership with Downtown Calgary and supported by The City of Calgary), took place on Friday April 17, and experienced a huge increase in attendance – over 1,500 costumed participants and an audience estimated at 5,000+.
- The event boasted over 470,00 square feet of space on the Stampede Grounds, over 300 hours of programming, over 300 invited guests and artists – all over 3.5 days.
- Over 900 volunteers working over 4 days to make the magic happen.

"At this point, on the Sunday afternoon of the show, the last day of our 10th anniversary, I’m so gratified be celebrating this milestone with all of them.
