We’ve all heard guys boast about their manliness by declaring: "When I cum I swear I shoot like 5 feet." or "Man I was so horny I shot over my shoulder." But who’s the bigger offender when it comes to boasting: gay men or straight men?

Much to the surprise of Newfangled Productions, the creators of a new novelty towel, they discovered the answer to this question quite serendipitously.

When Newfangled Productions started to market Cumshot Put, a fun tongue and cheek novelty towel that provides would-be show-offs with a playful way to measure how far they can "shoot their load" they didn’t expect such a visceral response from the gay community.

The marketing campaign for the towel targets both straight and gay males equally and while the response from both camps has been positive, it is the gay community that has been the most vocal about their "masculine pride". John Clancy, Marketing Director for the company explains, "We get about 5 to 10 emails a day from men regaling us with stories of their ‘virility’ and their reasoning for buying the towel. We then survey those men to determine their sexual preference and cross it with the data we have on the website where they initially saw the advertisement. The discovery was that the overwhelming majority of these men are gay – 80% to be exact. I can’t explain it. I just know that gay men like to express themselves on this subject a bit more than their straight counterparts."

It bodes the question: Do gay men feel being gay makes them less manly...and is this just an example of overcompensation? Or is it simply that gay men are more in touch with their sexuality and their bodies and therefore more vocal then straight guys? "I’m not so sure," says Clancy. "If you Google the term ‘forum: masturbate’, you’ll find plenty of forums where lots of men tend to overcompensate with the same style of masturbatory trash talk".

Clancy thinks that it would be interesting to research the split in sexual preferences on those forums too. But either way he sums up the gay vs. straight issue with justifiable aplomb: "You know how it is? You’re having a few drinks with your mates and the topic invariably turns to sex at some point. And, gay or straight, guys are just naturally full of bullshit when it comes to their manliness."

About the Cumshot Put Towel

Using a simple design, the shot put field is recreated on one side of a towel with accurate measurements listed in both centimeters and inches. A hole located near one-end acts as the "launching area" through which the user places his penis. Lying on his back, he then places the rest of the towel, image side up, on his torso and begins to masturbate. When he’s ready to cum, he simply shoots on the towel and records the distance. Afterwards, he can use the towel to clean up as the towel acts, conveniently, as both a measuring tool and cum towel in one.
