The global gay social network Moovz joins forces with YouTube star Davey Wavey, to help a gay guy from a religious Mormon family in Texas to come out of the closet. This special and touching video is a part of a special international #ComingOut project on Moovz, encouraging its users from all over the world to share their personal coming out story.
Coming out of the closet is probably one of the hardest moments in the life of a gay person. That’s the reason why the National Coming Out Day in the United States, which occurs on October 11, celebrates this brave step as an opportunity for the LGBTQ community to stand for love and equality.
Davey Wavey, a well-known gay youtuber, followed by millions of people around the world, joined forces for this special day with Moovz, the global gay social network that connects the global LGBT community, on a touching project in order to create awareness about this important issue. This project opens the '#ComingOut' campaign on Moovz, encouraging its users from all over the world to share their personal coming out stories.
Moovz and Davey Wavey are bringing us the story of Connor, a gay guy from College Station, TX, that grew up on a religious Mormon family and managed to fight his fears and come out of the closet against all odds.
Davey Wavey, along with the YouTube sensations Matthew Lush and Nick Laws, made all the way from LA to surprise Connor at his school in Texas, after reading his story on Moovz. Connor's sweet story will definitely touch your soul and probably inspire you to share your story and try to help others.
The effort of many organizations, the evolution of the internet and the initiatives of many individuals around the world are working to help next generations to feel better and supported during this tough process.
At the same time, stories can be powerful, encourage and make a huge difference in the life of someone that feels isolated, scared and probably really confused. We’re sadly being used to hear really terrible stories about gay individuals that are kicked out or disowned for their families once they’re coming out of the closet. Now more than ever, it’s important to speak up. Once someone knows personally a gay individual is more likely to understand and support equality in our society.
