Still don’t know what you are going to on New Year’s Eve? Hotel Arts, one of Calgary’s most innovative hotels, is hosting a New Year’s Party like none other. Located in the heart of downtown Calgary, Hotel Arts is providing “two parties in one” to those who want to celebrate the arrival of 2009 in style.
Guests of the New Years Extravaganza are in for a treat. The newly built Ballroom will be host to main stage performances, while the Raw Bar will provide non-stop music from the jazz trio Silk. DJs will also keep you dancing all night long.
Tickets are $149.00, but this doesn’t just cover the entrance fee. Each ticket holder is able to receive a complimentary drink, an exquisite food selection, complimentary Moet champagne, and door prizes.
Calgary based entertainment company Access Entertainment is producing the New Years Eve Extravaganza. They have rounded up talent that will keep the partygoers on their feet until the early hours of the morning.
Hosting the event are FunnyFest comedians Stu Hughes, Paul K, and Kelly Taylor. The FunnyFest Calgary Comedy Festival is in its eighth year, and perhaps you have caught one of their performances throughout the month of May. They strive to provide world-renowned stand up comics to the Calgary general public. They will definitely keep you laughing throughout the night.
The main stage in the Ballroom will be the place to be for non-stop entertainment. Headlining the event is Germany’s Queen Tribute band MerQury. This group of high energy and amazingly talented performers will make you wonder if you really have stepped into the past and are at a Queen concert. This is definite talent not to be missed.
Calgary’s own Tracy Sullivan will also be gracing the main stage with his talents. Guests can sing along and dance to an array of cover songs and originals. Tracy has performed at numerous Alberta events, including a fundraiser for Olympic athletes and their sponsors.
Rounding out the entertainment on the main stage is master illusionist Michael Berends. According to Berends “impossible has just become an opinion”, and he will prove that at the New Years Eve Extravaganza. His show is a mix of “magic, illusions, and the true art of escape”, and is guaranteed to keep the audience guessing.
