The incredibly sexy Daniel Marvin starts the film, struggling to deliver a drawn-out, depressing monologue. Major closet case, blah blah blah, forbidden love, blah blah blah, imagining other guys pounding each other the way he would want to be with a man, blah blah blah. He sits on a park bench in the rain, watching a gay couple walk by under the shelter of an umbrella, and soon we are in their living room as the two drink champagne, watch a porno, and get hot and heavy.
Pedro Andreas is in this scene, an adorable Hispanic with a stubble beard, buzzed haircut, and trimmed but visible body hair. His lower lip is pierced and bares a spiked stud; his shoulder adorns a Mayan Calendar Wheel tattoo, and another decorative tattoo encroaches on the nape of his neck. It is no wonder Marvin has taken a liking to this man from the park. But he is with with Marco Blaze, the token thirty-something twink of the movie. Join me as I chant “dump him”!
Marvin’s imagination continues to go wild as he envisions a business meeting at work turning into a brutish three-way, and the janitors in the hallway set themselves back in their cleaning duties. One starts to hope that Marvin himself will finally get some action before the porno’s end…though pragmatically speaking you know he has to. The filmmakers wouldn’t let a hunk like him go to waste! In fact he gets not one but two steamy scenes, with a return performance by Pedro Andreas. Watching it will leave your tongue lolling!

The title, Monument, speaks to the theme of body worship in this film. The men are mature, with athletic to heavy builds, some hairy, some tattooed, some both, and some neither.
We start out with one seriously tattooed dude in his underwear, boxing the hell out of a spring-mounted dummy and working up a major sweat. His punches get rhythmic, giving the practice implement the old one-two over and over. Finally he settles down, takes off the gloves and begins touching himself provocatively. Like clockwork, another tattoo freak pops out from behind a veil where he had been watching, in order to play with the sweaty man. Cue the loud and jarring music!
Despite the athletic subject matter and frequent use of jock straps, the setting for this film is unlike any gym I’ve ever seen. It seems more like a dungeon bathhouse than anything – with corrugated metal walls, exposed pipes, and red neon lighting. Give the boys whatever they need to get their sexercise!
Unfortunately this is one of those pornos you can fast forward from start to finish and not really miss anything important. There’s not a single line of dialog, nor an inkling of a story line, just raw man-on-man encounters. So if the cast doesn’t interest you, there is little other entertainment value to speak of.

This film is this month’s top seller at Priape, and with muscle god Zeb Atlas on the DVD cover, it’s not difficult to see why. The film has a large cast of young pretty men ranging from scrawny twink to, well, Zeb Atlas…but mostly scrawny twink. Indeed there are some beautiful bodies to be seen. At first glance the cast seems to be exclusively Caucasian, but upon closer inspection, a handful of them appear to have some Hispanic ethnicity in their very distant heritage.
It wasn’t clear to me whether these men were gathering at this exquisite mansion for a gay wedding or a straight one – there were certainly no women around, and no mention of a bride. Handsome Killian gallivants around the house with a rather large video camera (definitely not just making a home movie with that puppy), eliciting comments from his peers, and at one point cornering Zeb for a quick fling in the shower. Behind the scenes guys are hooking up left and right, and a six-man orgy breaks out in the garage!
If you’re into younger guys with that untarnished look, then drop everything and buy Best Men 2. While you’re at it, take a look at part one since they allude to it at the beginning…gotta get yourself up to speed!

There are several reasons I can see why it might be called “Rough Cuts”. It could be the rough men having rough sex (sometimes in slings), or the rough footage and rough editing. The first scene looks like it was filmed in the dark with an infra-red camera, as it is completely devoid of color. Thankfully the remaining scenes are not in the same style.
Beware, this film is not for the waffling bear-lover. Even for me, to my surprise, there were a number of bearish men that I didn’t find particularly attractive. The face is a big factor for me, and it overrides my liking for stout, muscular, and furry bodies. Long hair is a definite no-no, but thanks for coming out Mr. Addams.
I chuckled a bit as Jake Rowe tries to rip open his jeans as Eric Evans is in the process of pleasuring him. Unfortunately the double-thick waist band is a little beyond him, and he has to pull it down anyway. So much for the macho display of brute force there, buddy! But he redeems himself shortly by ripping Evans’ jeans clean off. Actually, if you’ve ever perused any online photo galleries of manly men, you’ll likely recognize Evans right off the bat. He is getting on in years, but is still an exceptional specimen.
For a while I felt cheated that I had reached the end of the porno without seeing any sign of Brick or Bubba, two hotties shown in the cast list at the beginning. OH WAIT, you have to return to the DVD menu and select the “bonus cut” option to see this hot scene. For goodness sake, why wouldn’t they just include it in the main barrage to begin with? Though I suppose if you hang out on Bear411, this DVD’s poor design should be the least of your frustrations.
