Located by what used to be the Edmonton Municipal Airport, and close to the Via Rail/Grey Hound Station is the Edmonton Inn and Conference Centre. Formerly known as the Ramada Hotel and Conference Centre, new owners recently have taken it over and they have slowly started giving the hotel some well-deserved attention too.

With the closure of the Edmonton Municipal Airport, questions surrounded if the hotels and businesses could exist without it. The new owners of the hotel are giving it hope and have already started investing money into renovations of the hallways and areas around the lobby.

There are three different towers connected to the main building which has several conference rooms and restaurants. The hotel has been the host hotel for the Imperial Sovereign Court of the Wild Rose for several years and the hotel used for their Coronation weekend in August plus several other smaller events throughout the year. I know from Coronation and Victory Brunch that the food they serve for events is exceptional.

The hotel has 260 guest rooms in several different configurations depending on which tower they are located in. The room I stayed in was very quiet, had a comfortable bed, and had door to a large balcony so you could see the area that used to be the airport but also the Edmonton downtown core.

A cool feature is the Arbour Lounge which is in the center of the hotel. There are pathways lined with large plants and stones that surround the interior which has a glass panel ceiling letting in natural light. In the center is the lounge with full bar and several large TV screens making it a nice area to hang out when the weather is bad or when you want to hang out with a group of friends for dinner and drinks.
