This was the third time I had the pleasure of stayed in Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. Unlike your traditional hotels, most of the 440 guest rooms are scattered around the main lodge in other buildings or part of the signature cabins. This year I was by myself, so they provided me with a room that was close to the lodge. The weather for most of the time I was in Jasper was mostly blizzard conditions so having a guest room close to the lodge made it easier.

The 275 sq. ft room with king size bed had been recently renovated as part of all the room upgrades they have been doing over the past several years. The room had a front door as well as a back door. The front door is towards the main road and side walk to the lodge. The back door which was on the far side of the room, allows access to the court yard and the pathways that provide access Lac Beauvert.

The room felt spacious even though it was one of the smaller guest rooms. The year prior, the guest room I stayed in was part of a cabin with 4 individual guest rooms that connected to a shared kitchen, dining room and living room. It is interesting to see the vast differences that Jasper Park Lodge has available for guest rooms for the size of the group and the in-room amenities. Being close to the lodge, I was not too worried about not having a kitchen. If I was hungry, I could easily pop over and pick up a snack at Fitzhugh’s To Go, or sit down at one of several restaurants.

The lodge has a beautiful spacious interior, with huge windows to see the lake. Also, there is a heated pool and tub, spa, meeting rooms, ballroom and kids play room. There are shops in the lower level too. During the summer time, the lake is crystal clear which is nice to walk or bike around. If you are more adventurous, you can rent a canoe, kayak, clipper or paddle boat, or a paddle board. There are winter activities available too, of course they are weather dependant.

Jasper Park Lodge is about a 15 to 20-minute drive to downtown Jasper. Cabs are available and shuttles too depending on if you are heading to the slopes or downtown.

Every Fairmont including Jasper Park Lodge have exceptional guest services. With nice large clean guest rooms with beautiful views, you can’t go wrong staying with your stay.
