There seems to be a recurrent theme here: I keep getting products to review that require me to shave. The latest to reach my door was the BIC® Hybrid 5 Flex™ Disposable Razor with blade refills. Whereas previous reviews have been for electric shavers, this BIC is disposable. The BIC® Hybrid 5 Flex™ comes with four heads, each with five blades, and a well balanced handle.

Unlike other disposable razors, where you buy the starter kit and then constantly replace the heads, this razor only allows you to cycle through the four heads included before you need to buy the product again. The heads are not sold separately.

Installing and detaching the heads is easy. There is a large metal sphere on the handle which you press to release the blade or when placing a new one in. This metal sphere also lends some weight to the razor and balance to the head to the body.

I was not going to shave off my beard so I used the razor to clean up my cheeks and neck. I used the razor over several weeks, always at the end of my shower when pores are open, and for easy rinsing of the trimmings.

I found that that the BIC® Hybrid 5 Flex™ provided, for the most part, a clean shave, however it did tug a couple times working around my beard. Out of any of the disposable razors I have used, I found that the handle felt more like that of an electric shaver. It had more surface area to hold and was shaped so your fingers could curl around it for better control.

After several weeks of use, I did not feel the blade wearing out. It held up, even having it sit in the shower between uses. The cost of the razor, with the four heads, is about $13. If you want to use a razor with a great handle and a good blade that provides a close shave, I recommend that you give the BIC® Hybrid 5 Flex™ Disposable Razor a try.
