This April marked the 60th anniversary of Stepper Homes serving homeowners in Calgary. In honour of this milestone they launched a special anniversary collection with 60 new homes at special pricing on a new website, http://www.stepperhomes60.com.
Stepper ensured this anniversary was celebrated with a bang; new radio advertisements, new design options, strong presence in the media, and the aforementioned website change. Emily Smith, marketing lead for Stepper Homes, contributes their success and long run due to the culture and family feel: Stepper is much more than just a work place, both to employees and the clientele they serve.
"Over the years, we have grown to incorporate dozens of trades into our homebuilding process with great success, and they are just as much a part of the team as any employee," Smith shares. "With time, we have also developed and changed how we build our homes so that we turn over a safe and healthy home. We have also changed how we sell, plan, draft and construct our homes to benefit our customers and their home buying experience."
Innovation has consistently remained a goal of Stepper, always aiming to present new technologies and products. Stepper was the first homebuilder in Calgary to introduce an accessible show-home that included a zero-entry shower and stair lift. The team has led the Calgary homebuilding industry in creating new designs for homes and sales centres, including the award winning ‘Stepper Experience’ in SE Calgary’s Legacy. "We were the first builder to integrate fully functional touchscreens in all of our showhomes", boasts Smith. "Stepper’s Home Album is also a simple and easy way for our customers to pick their homes interior selections that cuts down on the stress of building a new home."
Some of the more quirky aspects of Stepper include elaborate man caves – complete with urinals! Whether it’s a craft room, workshop, or custom garage, Stepper delivers unique spaces for customers. "These options are included in some of our floorplans, and depend on what our customers are looking for," Smith says. "In the past, we have included urinals in bathrooms, lifts in garages, three-car tandem garages with space for a workshop... we have even had a painted floor hockey rink in a basement once!"
In addition to serving the Calgary community, Stepper Homes holds a soft spot for making El Salvador a better place. As Smith explains, "El Salvador is near and dear to all of our staff. Each staff member is regularly involved with our efforts, whether it’s fundraising or our annual trips to El Salvador to build the homes. Over the past six years, we have contributed to building over 300 homes."
Stepper is dedicated to building our homes with passion. That passion is shown through consistently focusing on our integrity and legacy. Our integrity is about being who we are, no matter who we are with. Our legacy is that we build our homes today with tomorrow in mind.
Cheers to another 60 years!
