The SHARP Foundation & Art Mode Gallery present, "The Art of Hope"

April 25, 2007

On May 24, 2007, The SHARP Foundation will host "The Art of Hope," an auction of quality artwork, featuring artists from the local community. Artists and supporters will bring forth colour and support for individuals living with AIDS and HIV in Calgary.

"The Foundation is extremely excited to bring together local artists and supporters for what promises to be an entertaining and beneficial evening," says Floyd Visser, executive director.

The event will be held at the Art Mode Gallery, located on the corner of 17th Avenue and 4th Street SW. Starting at 5:30PM, attendees will be able to bid on several high-quality art pieces, fine wines and exclusive "We All have AIDS" t-shirts, personally autographed by fashion designer Kenneth Cole. Throughout the event, local artist Dean Stanton will create a one-of-a-kind piece, to be auctioned off near the end of the evening.

Tickets are $50, and available by calling (403) 272-2912. Proceeds from the evening will go to providing care and support to residents at the Foundation’s two support homes.

The SHARP Foundation (Society Housing AIDS/HIV Restricted Persons) is a Calgary-based charitable organization providing a "Wholistic Continuum of Care" for individuals living with AIDS/HIV. Our two homes provide "wholistic" care for our clients. This means each person we see receives care aimed at their individual physical, medical, psycho-social and spiritual needs. We provide care at a cost of less than $100 per day per resident which is anywhere from half the cost of hospice care to 1/18 the cost of acute hospital care.(GC)
