Hey, is this only my view, or do other people share the same views.
I am proud to say that I am a born and raised Calgarian. I have been in the gay scene since the early 80's. Boystown and 318 where the places to hang. Lets fast forward to the present. Boystown has been closed for how long? It's been so long. Twisted, I am not one to hate on a place, but Twisted, when I walk into that place it is like walking into a str8 bar, so many women. The Eagle is fun, if only it were bigger!:-). The bunker is a great place to meet up listen to tunes and chill.
So I am looking to see who shares my views on the bar scene here. We need another GAY Club... |

I think lots of people share your views, but don't have the resources to make a go of it. There were two proposals for a new bar a couple of years ago, but one group ran out of money and I doubt the seriousness of the other party.
What does one need? Well first an idea, secondly, a strong desire to make the idea work (including much patience working with potential landlords and government agencies) and thirdly, very deep pockets. It can take several hundred thousand dollars to sign a lease, remodel a building, decorate hire staff, bring in supplies, etc. Then you might not see a penny in profit for at least a year.
Wonder why so few people are interested? |
