When posting a forum message, you've no doubt seen the list of available emoticons beside your text box. Here is how to add them into your actual message:
First, hover your mouse cursor over the Emoticon that you would like to use. You will see a tool-tip appear that shows the key combination you must place in your message to invoke the icon.
For example, the

icon will show a tooltip such as ":-) or :)", and the
![[x]](/images/emoticons/x.gif)
icon will show a tool-tip such as "
![[x]](/images/emoticons/x.gif)
". You must add one of these text combinations to your message to embed the emoticon.
If you're unsure if you have done it correctly, you can use the "Preview my Message" link below the text box to see how the message will look once Emoticons and other special elements have been added.
Please note that emoticons are expected to have whitespace before and after their key combinations. So if your emoticons are remaining as plain text, please ensure there is whitespace on both sides.
For example, the following:) is not replaced because it is missing a space before it. And the following :)is not replaced because it is missing a space after it.
