People seek help from therapy based on a healthy longing to find relief from their emotional suffering. Are you struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, anger, guilt or grief? Do you find yourself repeating self-defeating behaviours, like over eating, over spending or over drinking? Are you stuck in familiar but dissatisfying relationship patterns with your partner, friends, parents, kids or coworkers? Maybe you are lonely but have trouble trusting others. Or maybe you wish you could express your feelings or thoughts, but are held back by a fear of judgement or rejection.
I am a registered clinical psychologist with over 15 years of experience, working from a psychodynamic perspective. My therapy approach draws from attachment theory and principals of Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy. I take an active and focused role in therapy to help people gain relief from their symptoms, and understand the cause of their suffering so that they can achieve lasting change and live satisfying and meaningful lives. Curiosity and self-compassion, combined with honest self reflection, are fundamental to my approach to psychotherapy.
