Calgary is proud to host the National Gay Volleyball Association (NAGVA) XXXI Championship Tournament this weekend, May 24, 25 & 26th at the Olympic Oval. Over a year in the making, copious hours of work and the tenacity of TJ Feyk and the local NAGVA committee, this is the first time Calgary has hosted an event of this kind!

This event is free to attend and given the line up of buff athletes, who wouldn’t want to witness players sweating it out and leaving it all on the court as they vie for the championship title? International players from as far as Mexico, Puerto Rico and across North America have travelled to our fair city to participant in the championship as the volleyball season comes to an end. Vancouver and Montreal are the only other Canadian cities that have hosted this event over the last thirty years.

Over 250 athletes will serve up the best that this sport has to offer from 9am until 3pm on Friday and Saturday, and from 8am until 4pm on Sunday. Upon the completion of the winning match on Sunday afternoon, in true Calgary style, belt buckles will be awarded to the winning teams of the three championship divisions and the tournament’s all-star team at the Players’ banquet. Vicious Circle will be hosting the after party from 10pm to 3am on Sunday with the music stylings of DJ Dopamine. This after party is open to the public.
