I had some trepidation in attending Jubilation's summer offering Sexy Gals in the City. While Jubilations shows are usually very entertaining and funny, it isn't exactly HBO on stage. I was concerned how they would capture the essence of the very adult Sex in the City TV show and make it PG.

My worries were unfounded. Sexy Gals in the City had me literally choking on my drink with laughter at the creative innuendo and dirty jokes that filled the show. My stomach hurt afterward from how hard I laughed.

The show is incredibly cast: Briana Lowe's portrayal of Keri Bradsaw is dead on to Sarah Jessica Parker's portrayal on the TV show. Ariel Dorge embodies Samantha so fully that even I have to confess, I was a little turned on when she stopped by the table and flirted with me. Mallory Schellenberg's Amanda and Sofie Corriveau’s Charlotte are also true to the original TV characters.

The voices on these girls are outstanding. The soundtrack ranges from songs of the 70's to current times, kicking off with Beyonce's "Single Ladies" and including hits like Roxette's The Look, Starship's Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now and a show-stopping rendtion of Heart's Alone. One of the things I've always enjoyed about Jubilations is the soundtrack to the shows and this is easily one of the best of the shows I have seen.

The cast is rounded out by Corey Beaulieu, a charismatic goofball who channels John Ritter in being a master of the pratfall, and Clarke Heynen, who brings in the male sex appeal. Both men play multiple characters, adding another fun dimension.

If you are looking for a fun escape this summer, I highly recommend checking out Sexy Gals in the City. Fans of the original show will love getting to visit these characters again, and even if you weren't a fan, this production stands on its own. It is the ultimate girl’s or boy’s night out.
