Location: Boots Bar and Lounge 10242 106th Street Edmonton Summary: - Details: In 1942 Edmonton’s first female councillor Margaret Crang was implicated in an RCMP sting surrounding a “ring of homosexuals operating between Vancouver and Edmonton.” The sordid tale rocked Edmonton’s theatre community and altered how gays lived in Edmonton. Learn more about Crang and the scandal from Edmonton writer Jocelyn Brown, who will be sharing her research including unearthed transcripts. Be part of this lively retelling of the story nobody knows and then stick around to share your own "alleged depravity" at Boots, which starting Nov. 22, will be celebrating its 29th anniversary.
