Starting tomorrow, The Works Art and Design Festival will bring you the world’s best in painting, installation art, multidisciplinary performances and over 50 one-of-a-kind installations/exhibits, for FREE.
Don’t miss The Works Opening Night Celebrations. Start your evening with free music on Churchill Square and the fiery tribal rhythms of Red Power Squad; Peoples Poets & Co.; Wab Kinew; A Tribe Called Red: Electric Pow Wow; Nik 7 and Jaycie Jayce.
The party continues with the art unveiling for Montreal art collective En Masse at Moriarty’s Bistro and Wine Bar at the official Opening Night Party. En Masse is painting this year’s Works Gateways. Get a sneak peek of their wild style and a night of partying for only $5—tickets on sale at door.
Art Market> vendors and kiosks on The Works Food Street, will overwhelm your senses with finely-crafted works of art and delicious food. The Works Family Programs will keep your kids busy crafting sculptures, musical instruments, puppets and family crests on the Square from Noon to 9 p.m.
Don’t forget to visit the Works Big Tent for the Festival’s feature exhibits,
Indigeneity and PopSex!, two controversial exhibits that promise to stir discussion. The Works Stage, nearby, will host the best Canadian musical acts and the Amsterdam electro-rock group Monokino. All Works Stage performances and exhibits are free of charge.
